Re: New Look
Good to have Countdown again - it's a must for me and 'she who must be obeyed'! We must be amongst the oldest long term aficionados - now in our 81st year. Just a couple of moans.....why are hardly any contestants' words displayed by the luscious Rachel, so that those hard of hearing can be sure of...

Re: New Look
You're both hilarious!
I loved it - love the set, Jeff is great, the new camera angles on the split screen numbers game, I got Fleeting and Courtier.
Felt for Rachel, hope she gets a chance to enjoy it through the nerves.
As long as he holds back on the football references I'm happy.

Re: Reaction to Carol's farewell programme
Great appropriate little show - not too much. Agree it was a bit weird neither Des mentioned (I suppose it was about CV and they didn't want to take over) and slightly weird the guests just vanished, poor Jean just disappeared without a mention.
Good send off though. Bit of TV history.

Re: Damian Eadie- Miracle Worker
Looking forward to it, all seems positive but expectations are high now!!!
No one likes change and there seems to be a lot of it. As for a 5pm slot, I doubt that will happen but a swap with DOND wouldn't go amiss.

You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone....as they say. It has been a good couple of weeks though - good guests and a bit of craic.
Des O is on every TV programme at the min flogging his album and he ain't doddery, doddery he is not.

Well I'm sure there will be some saving in salaries?!?!? Just initial thoughts - for £50m a year I'll do it. Terrible answer to a ridiculous post. Thank you. Yes, best not to have an opinion. Not so enthusiastic but I will hold fire until January. To me, shows a lack of ambition for the show - someone who'll do it and who's cheap - keep our heads down and get on with it. So you'll hold fire until January, but only after you've already fired? Hmm. Leave it with me. Okay, you think its ch...

Re: Sir Ranulph Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes
Worst. Guest. Ever. Who would you suggest John? (or anyone else for that matter), must be loads of people that could be asked. Well...the first question is does the show really need a guest? Maybe with the new hosts they will ditch the 'celebrity' guest - why not, do they really add anything to the...

Hello! I have jumped the gun and posted elsewhere, but I have been 'guided' by Jason to post and say hello. I am fan but haven't had the best start playing on here...1 out of 17 I think...there are many excuses for this, one of which is I am not as good as I think I am. (and the brackets on the numb...

Unless they have a routine the guest is a difficult gig - though I'm sure Ms W has a few more stories to tell than her efforts to date
