Re: Getting Apterous to work with Apple Mac

No, I've tried all kinds of things to get my Mac to run a different version of Java - mine's up to date according to software update but that doesn't seem to be up to date enough for Apterous - but I've had luck. I usually manage to play using a Windows VM I have installed but it tends to be a bit f...

That was great! And so close! Well done Kirk, I loved seeing how excited you were and was glad Jeff mentioned why - I wasn't sure they would.

Re: Obscenity democracy

I run a forum where we filter swear words automatically (which seems to be what that community wants) but I find it causes comprehension problems by starring out the whole word and people tend to use f*ck etc in order that we know what they are saying, or use creative alternatives. I find it rather ...

That does make it quite seriously bizarre then! Thanks for clarifying.

Re: Spoilers for Tue 03/03/2009

Best story of the day: Ann Abel's filming guest was this extremely aggravating Jewish woman Did you mean Ann Abel (who Kirk beat yesterday) or the lady Kirk played today (Fiona?) - I could see Fiona's guest having a reason to complain (sort of anyway) but not Ann's (though that might make the story...

Re: Spoilers for Friday 12th December *Final*

I'm a little late here having been avoiding anything Countdown related for weeks as I've only just caught up using 4OD... I just wanted to say congratulations to Junaid, and a mix of commiserations and congratulations to Charlie and all the other finalists too. The last three months have been the fi...

Re: Spoliers for Friday 31st October

I was surprised Carol didn't get the first numbers too, I thought my solutions were simpler for the others too.

(75+8)*2*2 + 50 = 382
5*5*25 + (7*6) - 2 = 665
2*4*100 + 6*5 + 5 = 835

Re: Welcome! - Post here first

Just thought I'd say hello! This looks like a friendly & intelligent forum. I have barely seen Countdown for years - when did they add in extra rounds? I used to watch after school in the mid 80s, and again when I was supposed to be thesis writing in the mid 90s. Tuned in a couple of weeks ago w...
