Re: CoC Quarter-Final 2 Spoilers For Friday January 15th 2016
I thought Dylan came across much better in his intros than he had previously for his octorun and finals, if rather dour still while picking vowels/consonants. This. He wasn't showboating. He thought he'd seen it the way he was going straight away and then didn't bother looking for another way, only...

Too early to say, depends who has the most time available to practice. You know how it is.
I'm looking forward to an avalanche of 4 large and 6 small numbers though.

Some major issues tonight in terms of the site going down for a few minutes at a time, and then not staying up long enough to play even a single round, then going down again.

Yeah Jen, I agree. It wouldn't surprise me if she made it in ahead of other semi-finalists. It's hard to call a 16 - so many things to consider, not least how far back in time to go. The last CoC was between S59 and S60, so I guess that might be the marker. Anyone since then who wasn't in the 30BC i...

Is the concept of having preset rounds for the qualifier finalised? I think normally drawn rounds would be better and fairer, although a relatively minor detail wouldn't keep me from attending.
Regarding the numbers, will you presumably do one of each plus a second one large?

It's natural that the knockout games have fewer goals as teams who know how to defend are successful teams.
What I find interesting is that in this little poll at the top of the page, nobody said Germany would win.

Yeah, I think Graeme Cole did a piece of analysis on it.
If I remember rightly, the results showed that the 'manual separation' is not really so prominent with the consonants (see round 8 here for instance) as it is with the vowels though.

Cracking game today. I really thought Neil would win even when he was 10 down going into the conundrum(s).
Really though there's so many people that got to 6 wins, what is up with that? Neil is the highest scoring of the four people on six wins though, so I fully expect to see him in the finals.

Shame that C2 ran into a good player playing well, because he is about the third or fourth contestant this series that is probably capable of winning eight games but has lost their first game. Shame really.

What a game. Great way to make your debut and keep your cool against a strong performance. Bobby might be regretting not practising his numbers in advance of his run because he was right on top of the letters games.
