Re: Spoilers for Tuesday March 26th 2013 (Series 68 Prelim 1

Thought this would be more hotly debated - maybe nobody's had a chance to watch it yet, or maybe nobody cares as much as I expected (shame on you fuckers) - but I thought that Susie was objectively wrong to disallow DOTAGES. Coincidentally it was allowed one year ago to the day . Not sure how much m...

Re: Spoilers for Monday March 25th 2013 (Series 68 Prelim 12

The main issue is the consistency. I'm quite happy for FLORUITED to be disallowed if there is a sensible rule in place that covers it and all other words without arbitrary add-ons. Really it's up to the dictionary to specify. If it doesn't, it should be allowed. I'd rather have words that "are...

Cheers Grant. 8 centuries (enuretics) has been done 6 times previously I'm told. I would love to add my name to the list, although I think it could potentially be devalued as a statistic by getting only 100 in the new format (I took an average of 9.25 from the numbers rounds and just 6.3 from the le...

Nice solve Zarte, was that pretty quick?

I noticed (25*2+75)*4 + 8/8 is possible too, afterwards. Was bloody hard to get to 500 without using the two 8's (the logical way of making the 1) under TV pressure.

Re: Ask Graeme?

They told me that it would only activate in sync when Nick presses the conundrum scramble reveal button and wouldn't have any effect before that

Re: ????? in Nottingham 2013

As for timing out the picker, if there's too much hesitation I/the game's host will pick a final consonant or vowel from the pile to make the selection up to 5C4V or as close as possible. On Apto you simply get get an S shoved in your face. This might be easier? EDIT: And it'll be a 9-round format ...
