I've not found a use for Slack yet. Was at a relatively geeky conference recently which had a slack channel, no-one used it, I suspect they were thinking the same thing. Maybe it will tighten at some point.

We've got this television where if you adjust the volume, you have to wait for the volume bar thing to disappear off the screen before you change the channel. That would be annoying enough but if you do attempt to change the channel, it seems to reset the timer on the volume bar so it will stay up ...

Depends what you mean by celebrate. I see that as going to see friends and family, and eating an absurd amount of food, not to mention chucking a few pressies around. On that score, much before the 20th seems pretty silly. Companies think it means shopping a lot as far as I can tell.
