Re: FOCAL 2017
Today brought a change to the running order. JR has decided to focus on Huddersfield for 2017, whilst Jeff's summer efforts are switching to helping Sean get Bournemouth off the ground. That's a shame. :( It was great having CoStAl as an event so close to home. Doubt I'll manage Bournemouth as it's...

Thanks, Zarte, Looks like your original suggestion of Tesco, Wolverton is correct. I phoned them up, and the guy who answered initially assumed there was a 3 hour restriction, but looked it up on the system and said there wasn't. He checked with the manager who said they don't recommend all-day park...

Thanks, Adam, for the parking info, I should be fine then, especially as my daughter's coming with me (not playing) and can help. I really should encourage her to learn to drive - being able to drop me off and park would solve a lot of problems! I'm also a bit nervous I suppose, as I don't often tra...

Hmmm, looked at the venue on Google, and the on street parking I zoomed in on was one hour only Mon to Sat. Supermarket car parks tend to be max 2 or 3 hours. However, this review link http://whatpub.com/pubs/BUN/1888/new-queen-victoria-wolverton does say there's a public car park nearby. Starting t...

It would be useful to know whether this was a one off, a mistake, or if, from now on, all mass noun actions can no longer be pluralised. I already have asked. Haven't got a response yet. Great, Graeme. Please let u...

Re: Birthdays
Didn't think we were still doing this thread, but yes, many happy returns to both Charlie Reams and Nick Hewer.Thomas Carey wrote:Happy birthday Charlie!
I expect that Charlie would also have appreciated a kiss from Rachel, as Nick did on Countdown today.

Re: Spoilers for Friday February 17th 2012 (Series 66 Prelim
Congratulations, Chris! 8-) The mentions on the show of it being Nick's birthday today causes me to point out the coincidence that it is also Charlie Reams birthday today according to the forum main page. Many happy returns to both Charlie and Nick. :D I expect that Charlie would also have appreciat...

Re: Spoilers for Tuesday February 14th (Series 66 Prelim 27)
I don't really see the controversy behind pluralising mass nouns, the rules clearly state that you cannot pluralise a mass noun but you can pluralise a food eg tandoori/tandooris although 'sedations' could be plausible in the fact that maybe an animal could have had 2 sedations in its life, I dont ...

Re: Spoilers for Thursday February 16th 2012 (Series 66 Game
Really good game, both played well. Congrats to Chris who played even better than yesterday and unlucky Matt as his performance today would have won many games comfortably. It was a shame about the numbers games as I'm sure Matt would normally solve those, maybe the studio pressure got to him. This...

Re: Spoilers for Thursday February 16th 2012 (Series 66 Game
Congratulations, Chris, on your win yesterday! :) I watched it this morning, not having seen the build-up, and was rooting for you, as we've played a few games on apterous. I've played Matt on apterous too, so whoever wins today, a fellow apterite will be in the champion's chair tomorrow. 8-) For th...

Re: Post your audition/filming/transmission dates here
I hope you get on the next series, Andy. :) Yeah cheers me too. I think it would be rather hypocritical of Damian Eadie if he used someone's internet posting against them in an application to be on the programme, since he remains producer despite some of the nasty stuff he posted on here when he us...

Re: Post your audition/filming/transmission dates here
Damian also said that contestants that apply get screened so to speak, and because I might have hypothetically sworn about a hypothetical losing finalist from series 65 in the public domain, then my application could potentially have been binned straight away so I don't regret not sending it then (...

Re: Countdown mentions on other shows
Anyone see Room 101 last night :?: The singer, Jamelia, said that Countdown will be finished in 10 years time :!: I saw this on "Room 101 Extra Storage" on Sunday. Jamelia was trying to get text speak into Room 101, and was just saying that kids won't be able to spell if we keep allowing ...
