Re: Reaction to Carol's farewell programme
I rather enjoyed the little half-hour programme in honour of Carol this afternoon. I personally thought it was going to be too brief to really do justice to her contribution, but perhaps any longer and it might have become just a little sickeningly over-sentimental. For those of us who watch the sho...

Re: My recent project...
It's good you started at the beginning, and just didn't go for the last uploaded video. Needless to say, we were all a bit nervous about plonking a camera on a coffee table, so arguably that's one of the worst. Nice of you to hotlink it, too! (I wasn't sure on the forum's policy - some don't like th...

My recent project...
I decided the 'off-topic' board was the best place for this... I have been working on a new project with a group of friends for a few months now, after they said I just moaned a lot and I claimed that I didn't. We decided to film one of our conversations, a la Loose Women, and see what happened with...

I do hope they haven't been reading this forum and got their news story from it...
To think Kathryn only made it as a throw-away comment, too.

Re: Today's Countdown News... see link
I'm sure that if any of you asked her if there is anything she can't do, she would say no. That might just be a reason as to why some people might not take too kindly to her. As long as she gets the job because of her talent with figures and not because of her own figure, then I'd have no problem w...

Re: Today's Countdown News... see link
Myleene Klass? Do we have a source for this information, or is it just Hearsay? ;) Oh, nice. :D (And, just in case you did want the answer, all I can find is Kathryn mentioning it as a throwaway comment in an interview she did with the papers re: Carol's departure.) ((And I'm really, really happy t...

Welcome, Debbi!
Shall look out for you in your programme! Hope you had a good time!
(I would go on the programme myself, but I'm currently in the frame to take over as host. )

Re: Today's Countdown News... see link
I think it was Kathryn who put Ms Klass forward as Carol's replacement because, as she says, "she seems to be on everything these days". Myleene strikes me as an intelligent person, but I've no idea how she fares with numbers. The best solution would be to have an unknown come in to deal w...

Re: Today's Countdown News... see link
I think it was a very ill-judged comment by whoever made it that Countdown survived RW's death, so it could survive without Carol - a PR faux-pas if ever there was one. I was interested to read Kathryn's comments in this morning's papers, and couldn't agree more when she said about it being very rar...

What about Andy Murray?
I just want to find out if he's as depressing in everyday life as he is when a tennis match doesn't go his way. No other reason.

Re: Welcome! - Post here first
Nice to know that I've been missed. I might even tune in to an episode of Countdown to see what I've been missing! ;) No, I'm not quite dead. Nearly, but not quite! I've just had a lot of, oh what do you call it?, *shite* to put up with just recently, but I'm back and better (or should that be worse...

I never like these things, but here goes: I'm Andrew, once known as Noel in a previous life, now either known as Andrew, APL, or if you're staunch traditionalists, Noel. Getting ready to commence upon reading Classics at Manchester University come September. Used to watch Countdown regularly when th...

Re: Today's Countdown News... see link
I used to be around quite a bit on the old forum, but to be honest I haven't watched the show very much since Des O'Connor took over. Sad to say, but it lost some of its magic for me when Richard died, because I watched more for the banter between him and Carol than I did for the game itself. The va...
