Re: Unpopular opinions you genuinely hold
Oddly enough I still find Fawlty Towers funny, with John Cleese being the highlight, but I absolutely cannot stand anything with 'Alan Partridge' in the title, mainly because of the title character. When I watch a sitcom I want to laugh, not cringe. Cringing and laughing are not mutually exclusive....

Re: Unpopular opinions you genuinely hold
I recently read an article about the death of the sitcom. No TV studios in America are commissioning anything new as its not viable because people's tastes have changed and also too many groups are likely to take offense Maybe it was hyperbole but I haven't seen anything new recently. Also where are...

Re: Unpopular opinions you genuinely hold
Fawlty Towers (mostly) isn't funny I think you're part of a silent majority here. I've watched Fawlty Towers and, for what it's held up to be, it really didn't meet expectations. There isn't really much story in the episodes, and some things that are supposed to be funny actually have quite the opp...

Re: Unpopular opinions you genuinely hold
I rewatched Fawlty Towers relatively recently and was disappointed with it . For a programme that's held up as an all-time great, it hasn't really stood the test of time very well. Blackadder, on the other hand, isn't really that much younger than Fawlty Towers, but is in another league. Agree with...

Sitcoms generally have a short shelf life.
Most comedies that I like are not conventional sitcoms like The League Of Gentlemen , Alan Partridge and Seinfeld.
Faulty Towers was of its time and is a little cringy now.
Yet Monty Python is still funny

Found it - CO:LON 2017 has the record with 68 players. CO:LON 2018 had 67 and CO:LON 2019 had 65. Besides those events, I can't think of any others that got higher than the low-to-mid 50s. Extra time in football is a waste of time. Why not have penalties at 90 minutes and have 10 penalty takers (not all keepers areas good as Ederson) This will stop teams from conserving energy at around 85 minutes and go for it more. Having 10 penalties each means it's more of a leveller Also teams th...
