Re: Spoilers for 25th April 2008

4 x 75 = 300
300 - 25 = 275
275 + 10 = 285
100/50 = 2
285 - 2 = 283

Re: Spoilers for Tuesday 25th March

Another alternative:

75 - 2 = 73
73 x (8+3+1) = 876
876 + 6 = 882

Thank you Bryan for eliminating 'X' :D.

I thought #22 was 'X', but because it's not 'X', MEGAPIXEL stood out at me :D (I hope I have spelt it right ).
Good spot. I was nowhere near that one.

Re: Conundrum alphabet

Is NEMOPHILA right, or is that capitalised only?

I have to say, this is a rather tough lot. Good job Jason.

Re: Conundrum alphabet

As much as I know this'll sound like a cop-out after the fact, I meant to put the question mark beside GALEFLOOD rather than QUITTANCE. I was initially not certain about QUITTANCE, but soon figured it to be right, while at first I thought GALEFLOOD sounded good, but by the time I'd finished wasn't s...

Re: Conundrum alphabet

Got these pretty quickly (well, the ones I've got that is), though I think this lot seems easier on average than the ones from yesterday. Or else I'm just having a lucky night, though I'm stuck on 2 of them. Answers which were already given I've put in brackets: A - (ANTHOLOGY) B - BEECHWOOD C - CHE...

Re: Conundrum alphabet

Thanks to David doing the hard work (thanks!) I can see E is ECTOMORPH and R is RUBESCENT.

Not a clue about M though. I can't think of anything that fits those letters. And I know I wouldn't have got nearly as many as David with just a quick gander.

No, I failed to see it as well. I was stuck on "sputters"

I saw the letters for "upstreet", and wasn't able to make the connection to the word Des got.

Re: Welcome! - Post here first

Well I guess it'll affect everybody in different ways, so there's only one way to find out ;) I'm a nightmare too though at any kind of public performance. If I have to do a presentation at work, even if it's just to a few people that I know well, I turn into a sweating stammering mess, so I had re...

Re: Spoilers for Wednesday 27th February

What's wrong with 112*8 ? :) Ooohh, 112*8 is a terrible solution! A disgrace to the fine number of 896! Seriously though, there's nothing wrong with 112*8. I used that method myself during the numbers game, funnily enough solving it exactly the same way as James did, so that saves me the effort of ...

Re: Welcome! - Post here first

I play a little classical guitar, Bryan, and have suffered from stage-fright many times to the extent that it has rendered me unable to play.I would have to argue, though, that it's an entirely different discipline. The trembling, greasy-palmed uneasiness that is the ruin of a good instrumental per...

Re: Welcome! - Post here first

Oh, I don't doubt for a second it's great fun. I've read about the positive experiences other people have had on the show, and I reckon I would wind up having a lot of fun if I applied, meeting plenty of witty, humourous and pleasant people (mind you, I'd feel sorry for those I talked to). And if th...

Re: Spoilers for Wednesday 27th February

Admittedly I didn't get this within 30 seconds, but hopefully this is a correct way of getting the solution that doesn't involve multiplying 112 by 8:

3 x 25 = 75
75 + 6 = 81
8 + 3 = 11
81 x 11 = 891
891 + 5 = 896

Hello. I'm Bryan Conlan, 24 years old, and have been watching since 1991, though didn't watch from about 2000-early 2002. For many years I revered Chris Waddington, and his two games with Robert Teuton are still among my favourite games - and are sentimentally my two favourite games - in all the tim...
