I don't think disallowing DOTAGES is necessarily wrong. If the Countdown team asked OUP about it, and they replied that you can only talk about people in their dotage, and there's no usage case for "dotages", it shouldn't be allowed. I wonder, though, how often OUP gives specific guidance ...
