Re: Numbers Attack Tournament - Round 1
It doesn't get much closer than this:
Division B: Tyron Potts 148 - 138 Supee Juachan
Three tie-breakers

Re: Countdown words spotted in real life
I was browsing the BBC news website at work today and came across this article about toucans' bills, containing a favourite nine - PREDATION. Seems odd for it to be used in relation to birds' nests.

Not sure if this is a bug, or something wrong with my PC ... A couple of times recently, I've had perfectly good conundrum solutions rejected for no apparent reason: http://www.apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=85979&round=1259485#r1259485 http://www.apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=82497&round=1...

Re: Unfortunate names
I went to school with a girl called Theresa Green.
I should also point out that my name fits the bill (T Potts) for which I am eternally thankful to my parents. Thankfully, we decided not to call my son Jack.

Indeed, though I did begin to fear for his sanity during this week's extended rant about Del Boy falling through the bar. It's the extended , repetitive rants that put me off during this week's episode. They detracted from an otherwise quite clever routine. You know what my trouble is, don't you? M...

Number 1: 'Engine' iirc. #s 1 & 2 were 'Contact Light' followed by 'Okay, engine shutdown'. I might be wrong about them saying 'okay'. Re Number 1: I think there is a 'Shutdown' in there somewhere... Probably before the 'Okay' - making 'Okay' the fourth word? Number 8: Canada - the border loops...

I'll never grow tired of proclaiming 'arseburgers' (as used by Eric's boss in Stressed Eric) when things don't go to plan.
As in:
"...and then I shoved lettuce up my nose and gave it to a customer!"
"I know, we've got it on video"
"Oh arseburgers!"

Hello everyone! My name is Ty and I'm an actuary. There, I said it. I've been a Countdown fan since I was a kid and watch everyday (thanks to the marvels of Sky+ :) ). I haven't yet been on the show, though I thought about sending off for an application in 1997. My head keeps telling me I'm getting ...
