Re: COOT '08 - The Home Straight!!!!

I was thinking of trying a Euro 2008-style tournament with 8 groups of 3 people, with players playing the other two people in their group, meaning of course that everybody gets 2 games minimum. The two non-qualifiers could then play in the plate and there would be eight qualifiers for the quarter-fi...

The interesting thing about TREASONS is that you'd never actually need to play it as long as you know that it's the anagram of SENATORS. There are quite a lot of words like this where there's a word you could be unsure of but there's an anagram that's perfectly valid and a common word, so you can ju...

COOT - Kirk Bevins vs. Martin Gardner

This game features former semi-finalist Martin Gardner, and Kirk Bevins who lost on his first appearance to a former semi-finalist. However these two met at COLIN 2005 where Kirk beat Martin by 10 points and was 20 points ahead before the conundrum. So who would be the winner this time? C1: Challeng...

This might sound harsh, but there were a lot of flat rounds i.e. 8 possible sevens, but no eights or 8 possible sixes, but no sevens. It's the sort of game where you could get the maximum on the letters, apart from INHAULS and ALLUSION which were hard.
